Yes, it’s one of
the best times of the year! I’m saving
on utility bills, spring festivals are everywhere,
live music is happening outdoors, everything
is really, really green, I’m getting
my swimsuit body ready (hehe... inside joke),
and I think I’ve already caught a
little poison ivy, while working in the
yard (the yearly battle, Man v. Weeds!).
Work is good and I’m feeling well.
I know I missed many of you in March, when
I had a terrible cold/flu infection for
about 24 hours that just knocked me out
for about 2 weeks. I was able to see the
Parasol’s St. Patty’s Day Irish
Channel block party, and have a great afternoon
and evening in New Orleans; but, the sickness
came on and I missed all the parades that
weekend. And the weather was just perfect,
too. Oh well, maybe in October I’ll
get those great temps again. Now, it’s
time to sweat!
Gigs are just fine and
steady. Thanks for coming out and having
fun with me. Charles Pierce is doing excellent
work with me on Sunday nights at Spanky’s.
I really appreciate him, as he does it all
for tips, and the occasional beer and shot.
I’ll be back on the patio at Serrano’s
while it’s warm. Not too much else
new, but you guys keep the gigs entertaining.
I’m excited about
the JazzFest lineup this year. I’ll
try to get down there for a couple of days.
French Quarter Festival is fantastic, if
you get the chance. Just walk around the
Quarter and River, and free live music is
everywhere. Oh, and the food court in Jackson
Square is wonderful! Let me see what I can

Man, there is so much
more going on, too! Get out there and festival,
friends. Also, big Happy Birthday wishes
and salutations go out this month to Selena
Labat - the mistress of the serpent tongue!
Ya see... oh, never mind.... Actually, she's
a wonderfully sweet girl and cleans up good,
a terrific, dedicated Mom, performs random
acts of kindness, cooks a really good roast,
is a big foodie, loves to think about travel,
works hard, she's bright and moves fast,
then slows down and is quiet and still.
No flies on her, though! (old talk, there).
Happy B-day, S.
I’ve only had boiled
crawfish once this year. But Dad is having
me over for some on Easter! Love you Dad!
Spring has sprung, and
so have I....hehe.....
Later,
Kirk
