Fresh off the backhoe/front end loader, it’s your old buddy - that guy that plays guitar and sings. That’s right - I had my first experience operating heavy (really light) equipment! Talk about fun! I was clearing out part of my property - hoping to rid part of my life of poison ivy, roots, crappy overgrowth, and many hidden used beer bottles from decades of trailer park trash throwing their garbage over onto my property! Wait ‘til I get to the "back 40."

Oh, I am now officially concerned that I lack sexual appeal. The only comment about me possibly looking good came from Selena, sitting in my car, telling me the 55+ year old teller in the drive through was checking me out. The one compliment has come from a woman in her 60's, with her husband, telling me I’m "adorable." And, the latest "you look like..." is Danny Bonaduce (Danny Partridge from the Partridge Family). And the one girl who I’m attracted to calls me "turd." Hehe.....

Enough of being silly. Now for the real silly stuff: IT’S TIME FOR THE "ELVIS AND JESSE SHOW!" That’s right, August 20th, Gerard Langlois and I present the 3rd Annual Elvis and Jesse Tribute to the King of Rock and Roll. The yearly event, placed around the time of Elvis Presley’s death, will again take place at Spanky’s Daiquiris in Prairieville on Sunday, August 20th. Show starts around 8pm, with the funktageous New World Funk opening the show. New World Funk are friends Matt Doran and Chad Braud, with singers Wendell Woods and Laurie Whitney. They will play a set, then we’ll take the stage between 9 and 10pm, for a great set of Elvis favs - in full Elvis regalia and full band - and NWF will play a set to close the evening. This is gonna be a fantastic, fun, and funky evening. We’ll be over-the-top, in Elvis Vegas-style outfits. Will I attempt the black leather pants one more year? Will my Elvis hair still be a foot above my head? Will the security team make the smoke machine work this year? Will they be able to keep Spanky’s women off of Gerard, or vice versa? Hehe..... Please come out for this show - it’s my favorite of the year! Tell all your friends and come get a spot early - seating is limited, but there is plenty of standing room, and that will put you within "scarf/lei throwing distance." Uh huh huh, Uh huh huh, yeah, yeah, I’m all shook up!

New shows this month: La Caretta on Government Street, twice, and the Roux House, downtown. Returning to Fat Mama’s in the Bluffs at St. Francisville. Matt and Chad show up with me at Superior Grill. Check out all the shows on my schedule page.

Thanks so much for reading this newsletter and coming to the shows. I appreciate it very much!
