- December 02 (Holiday Season)
Hi everyone.
I'm updating the website a little early,
before Thanksgiving, since I'm off all week.
I hope you have a great holiday time with
your families and friends. The good news
is that my CD is finished, as far as producing
the music goes! I have to finish the artwork
in the next two weeks and get it to the
manufacturer right after that. I had set
a release date for December and even had
a date for a release show. However, that
got canceled and, in reality, I needed just
a little more time. So, at this point, I'm
shooting for a January release, depending
on where I can get a gig to have a release
show/party. Thanks for your patience and
encouragement. Thanks to Matt and Chris
for letting me use their editing ears on
the final mixes. I'll need all the friends
I can get at the CD release, so please start
spreading the word and watch the website
for news on that.
I have been
enjoying my Sunday night shows with Rhett
and Chris at Spanky's in Prairieville. The
owner says he is having trouble affording
two musicians (they don't charge a cover)
and it might be just me, for now. However,
you never know and we'll have to see what
happens there. Thanks for coming out and
helping us. In December, it will be hard
to find me playing. I have private parties
almost every weekend. But I do have a few
On the Half Shell shows, along with Spanky's
on Sundays.
Hey, I decided
not to work at the Bulldog this Thanksgiving.
I'll be eating and on the road all day long,
and it has been pretty slow there the last
few years that night. Also, I'll be at the
Superdome on Dec. 1st, so I won't be at
Spanky's. Check the schedule page for all
shows.
In support
of friends, check out these bands, gigging
all the time:
- Rhett Anthony on Monday nights at the
Caterie at 10pm
- Chris and Amanda LeBlanc at the Vineyard
on Wednesdays at 8pm
- In New Orleans, John Fohl at Margaritaville
on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 3pm and playing
guitar with Dr. John!
- Debbie Landry at The Press Box on Wednesday
nights
- Cam Pyle Band
- Damon King Band
- Stompin' Ground
- Johnny Gossip
- Hip Boot Joe
Can't wait
to see James Taylor in December! I hope
we'll all be excited about bowl games and
playoffs by then. I am so thankful for all
the years of support from you folks. I'll
get the CD news out very soon and I'll hope
to see you all soon.
All the best
to you,
Kirk
