Are ya ready for some football… to be over?!! Damn, what to do on Sundays for a while? This is a tough time of year for sports, to me – but I guess Tiger Woods will be cranking it up soon, and we’ll see whom (Word says that is the proper word to use) the Saints pick in the draft. LSU baseball usually gets me interested, and maybe I’ll finally make a game this season. Never did that, did we? I’ll be looking for a Super Bowl invite, unless I decide to pull out the grill at the last minute! hehe….

Not a ton of news going on. Most gigs are at the usual fun spots. I do appreciate you checking me out at each of them. Skipping a couple of Sundays in favor of the Super Bowl and Bacchus. No music at Spanky’s for Super Bowl Sunday, and Debbie Landry covers on Feb. 22. I haven’t been at the Half Shells much, but find me at them 3 Fridays in a row this month.

Hey, the new Bulldog in Baton Rouge is really cool, and I was excited to see my friends from New Orleans Herbie, Rusty, Donn, Justin, and Nick, again. They are already doing great business, and I suspect they will destroy on Mardi Gras and St. Patty’s parade days. Charles Pierce is in love with the joint! I’ve been 3 times, too. And, it’s right by my favorite Thai place, Thai Kitchen! That place is amazing! Absolutely could eat there every week, a few times.

Don’t forget that Spanky’s has a new location out near Diversion Canal in Maurepas. I’ll be there later this month. They have Thursday and Sunday living, breathing musicians! Spring and summer will rock there. Onezia is doing better and better, says owner Kyle Sonnier. Check out acts like Chris LeBlanc and Jerad Perck, as well as myself. Check my schedule for my return to George’s, Southpaws, Pastime, Spanky’s, Mi Padre’s and Churchill’s.

February is not a month full of festivals, but it is carnival time – Oh yes it’s Carnival Time! I hope you get some parades in – get you some cool beads thrown your way – see the crazy people. We are not involved in the Krewe of Southdowns again this year – I know some of you always ask if we are riding. I’d love to ride in Spanish Town, if anyone needs another krewe member.

Well, I better do something around here. It’s time to think about the gardens and get off my ass for some house chores. Not exactly at my best right now, so thanks for coming to see me play – it’s really nice of you and helps me so much. I hope I can return all you do for me, in some way.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you lovers, everywhere….

kiss
