July 25
Due to a scheduling mistake, Amanda LeBlanc
is playing with Chris at the Vineyard this
Wednesday, July 27. I may show up and jam,
but it's not an official Chris/Kirk duet
show. But, we will do that in August a few
times. I will be at Margaritaville on Wednesday,
July 27, 3-6pm.
I just added a show at the last minute at
Binx, Rhett Anthony's bar, this Saturday,
July 30 at 9pm. Binx is on Hwy. 621 in Prairieville.
I made an error this month - the new Half
Shell will be on Bluebonnet @ Burbank, not
on Gardere. Should open in the fall!

Hey, a couple of things have been added
to this month. I'm playing at Rhett's new
club, on Hwy. 631 in Prairieville, on July
20. Not quite sure of the times, yet. Probably
9pm. Also, I won't be performing, but Spanky's
has another all day food and music festival,
featuring Chris LeBlanc and some fantastic
other players - Summertime Blues! That is
on July 24th. Should start around 3pm and
go to midnight. I think Chicago Al will
be another guest star. Music will focus
on the blues.
AND, LOOK FOR ELVIS AND JESSE TO MAKE THEIR
2nd ANNUAL APPEARANCE AT SPANKY'S IN AUGUST.
NOTHING BUT ELVIS TUNES!!
June 30th...
I’m dating this
newsletter, because I think there will be
some changes to my calendar, which I will
add later. Welcome to my website, friends,
and thanks for checking in again. June was
way too full of shows, but I have made it,
without too much damage or stress. The beach
party at Spanky’s was really cool,
with Debbie, Blayne, Charles, Blake, Skip,
and Chris all playing wonderfully. Trey
served up the best smoked chicken I’ve
ever had. Returning to Satterfield’s
in New Roads seems to have been successful.
In general, the Sunday nights at Spanky’s,
often with Charles Pierce, have remained
extremely fun and successful. Margaritaville
seems to like me, and I’ll continue
my Tuesday afternoons there. Other dates
are in transition, and new gigs are close
on the horizon.
Rhett Anthony, of Monday
Night Band and Cam Pyle fame (not to mention
his own great and popular name), is opening
his own club, called Binx, this month! I’ll
likely play there, and we have talked of
myself, Rhett, and Chris LeBlanc doing an
occasional trio there. On the Half Shell
is working on its new location on Gardere
in Baton Rouge. They hope to be ready for
football season (which also has me tingling
in anticipation!).
I’m attempting to
keep my schedule light in July. But, I’ll
be at all the usual spots. Check the calendar
for updates over the first few days of July.
I want to congratulate Lee Abbott, son of

Chris LeBlanc sits in
for me at Spanky’s on July 10. Also,
Spanky’s is having it’s "Summertime
Blues" on July 24th. Another all day
music and food event, focusing on blues
music. We may or may not participate, but
look for local blues musicians to be jamming
there all afternoon and evening. I’ll
update that lineup soon.
I hope your Independence
Day holiday is just wonderful. It seems
to be a great time for families to get together
and share fun. It is the biggest grilling
day of the whole year. It is great to live
in this beautiful state and country, but
don’t forget our friends and loved
ones who are fighting for independence for
others all over the world. I haven’t
spoken much, in my American way, lately.
I am confused and unsure about what is going
on, in and out of this country. But, that’s
all for another, more personal, time. I
am grateful for all I have, and as I always
say, you are all a part of that! Lucky me...
hehe!
Happy 4th.... check back
on the schedule
