- July 06
This year is flying by,
for me. Halfway over and I still get the
number wrong. June and the rest of the summer
has found me with many new gigs and venues.
I feel very lucky to still be called for
work and not always have to hunt for it.
But, I’ll do my best to work at places
that I enjoy and that I think you will enjoy
- it doesn’t always work out, but
I try.
In July, I’ll do
an unusual Monday afternoon show on the
3rd, at Satterfield’s in New Roads.
A little day before Independence Day, chill
out on the dock performance. I’ll
go back to Covington and the Columbia St.
Tap Room - www.columbiastreettaproom.com
- excellent lineup of fun there. Once again,
I’ll show up with Debbie and Blayne
at Click’s Billiards on Tuesday, July
11th. Also, look for a new spot, Southpaws
Daiquiris in Dutchtown, just off I-10 at
Hwy. 73. I’ll be there Thursday, July
13.
Special guest, Chris LeBlanc,
will join me at Spanky’s on July 16,
in the evening. Also, Spanky’s hosts
it’s 2Nd Annual BluesFest on July
23. I’ll probably get one of our local
bluesmen to run that show. And, I’ll
be, as always, at Spanky’s, Pastime,
and On the Half Shell (still waiting on
the 2nd location to open up).
I hope you folks are able
to celebrate the Fourth of July in great
fashion this year. Fireworks, BBQ, swimming
pools, burgers, music, families and friends.
Remember that a person in uniform is providing
security for the party. I hope God will
continue to bless this country and give
us the wisdom to guide us through these
strange, new days. I think there is evil
in this world and the US continues to be
a force against it.
Enjoy your vacations and
the heat! Remember, it gives us supple skin
down here!
Happy 4th of July,
Kirk
