Hello, my friends, and thanks for checking back in on my website. Wow, May was something else! It seems I never had much time to catch my breath. May 1st was my birthday and I had a really nice, low-key and fun night at the Bulldog. The weekend after, we went to Memphis for the Beale Street Music Festival. Saw some incredible acts! Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown was fun (local drummer, David Peters of LeRoux fame, was with him). Heard a few notes from India Arie and Joe Cocker. Closed out the first night with John Mayer, who is such a great entertainer and musician! The second night, we caught Koko Taylor (awesome classic blues madam), notes from Jack Johnson and Ben Harper, and sat down with the Gap Band. Finished the night with Willie Nelson, Steve Winwood, Jerry Lee Lewis (probably liked that the most), and Sheryl Crow! I had been suffering with a bad back and a hacking cough; so all the walking kinda ruined me for the third day of the festival. Wish we could've seen ZZ Top that night, but had fun going to a drive-in movie! Have I told ya'll that I love Memphis? It's becoming like New Orleans for me, in that I am getting to know my way around, learning all the good food spots, finding great music, and seeing how cool it is to be where there is always something fun going on.

Well, that was the first weekend of May. The rest of the month, I was just busy playing gigs. The Caterie on Mondays has been fun and I think Rhett Anthony will be coming back for some Monday nights soon. I still feel I am just keeping his place warm! Thanks for jamming with me last night buddy. Come out on Mondays and see some of BR's best players sit in with us.

I played a nice get together with one of my best support groups in New Orleans in May. These girls and guys have been coming to see me for many years at the Bulldog and now they have graduated from Tulane. I am losing them to their lives and wish them all the best in this next phase of growing - getting out and getting a job! Thanks Kendra, Ellen, Shelley, Sydney, Ashley, Rudy, Mac, Amy, Lauren, and all who have been "THE" gang at the Bulldog. Many of you will still be around, and many names I forgot or left out. But I am so grateful to you all. Please stay in touch through this website and send me some party pics!

I had great birthday and graduation parties with Richard Abbott, Janet Cook, Lee Abbott, Doug Horner, and my best bud Joel Fitzgerald. May was full of great jams with musician friends Chris LeBlanc, Rhett Anthony, Dave Long (check out www.harmonicadave.com, which is under construction), Vince Monistere, Matt Doran, Chad Braud, Johnny Gossip, and the Cut Throats. Favorite gig of May might have been at the Vineyard. People really listen!

In June, look for me every Sunday at Spanky's in Prairieville, every Monday at the Caterie, and every Tuesday at Landry's Seafood Ya Ya from 7-10pm. Remember that Landry's is seeking a new name. If you come up with it, you could win a trip to Destin! Come see me and talk to the bar about that. Also, I'm going back to On the Half Shell for some Thursdays. Miss that place. I see I have a stretch of 11 shows in a row in June. I did 9 in a row in May and it was hard. Look for me to ditch one of those nights!

I will be involved in a benefit for my friend Steve Brown on June 22 at Landry's Seafood Ya Ya, which will be renamed to Pangea (really?) by then. Your donation of $30 will get you a day of live music by Chris LeBlanc, The Damon King Band, Amanda LeBlanc, and myself. You will be fed gumbo, fried catfish, and jambalaya. Wine, beer, and soft drinks are included, as well. It will be 2pm-7pm. There will be auctions, too. He is dealing with cancer and the expenses of that, so if you can help support me that day, please do. Click here for all the details. You can buy tickets from me or email stevebrownbenefit@yahoo.com, or call Pangea @ 761-3709.

Otherwise, I am planning on doing a second CD release party in New Orleans, if I can find the right venue. I have many fans from Baton Rouge that go to school or moved there for work. I hope that will work out. That will not be in June, but I hope will happen this summer. Besides that, I just need to promote the CD some more locally. I am still selling units and I thank you so much for that. Hope you are still finding new things in the production. I think it sounds great on a headset, too.

Alright then, thanks for reading. Check my links for cool web visits. Write me a note or listen to my tunes on my website. The world is a better place now! It seems the murdering garbage that ruined and ended lives has been caught. The US is helping the world, not just talking about helping. We live in the best country in the world and it's summer and the road is open ahead!
