Sorry that I am late
updating the website this month. I have
been busy working on details to get my
CD out by November. The tunes are now
in Los Angeles, being mixed by Brad Cobb.
I'll go there later this month to finish
that process with him. Between now and
then, I have to concern myself with the
art and packaging of the CD, itself. Lots
to do, but I'm getting lots of help. I'm
trying to line up a CD release party/show
in Baton Rouge and will let you all know
about that as soon as I can. It all still
seems like a long way off, because there
is just a tremendous amount of information
I need to take in and a lot of decisions
to be made.
I had to cancel my
first gig at The Hanger in New Orleans.
We just were not sure what would happen
with Hurricane Lili, so the manager and
I decided to wait for a better time to
start a new project. So, we'll start that
Thursday the 10th. It will be ladies night
- ladies get in free and drink free from
9pm-1am (well brands and draft beer).
Guys pay a $3 cover, but also receive
drink specials.
I lost two gigs this
past month. The Cadillac Café show
with Rhett Anthony and my once-a-month
show at Ivar's have ended. But, all is
good. I have the new New Orleans gig at
The Hanger, every Thursday during the
months that I'm not at The Bulldog. And
I'll be playing Sunday nights in Prairieville
at the new Spanky's Daiquiris, 8pm-midnight.
Chris LeBlanc and Rhett Anthony will join
me for the first show there on the 13th!
Rhett Anthony will join me for the second
show, on the 20th!
By the way, I am involved
with a benefit on October 12 called Stomp
Out Hunger. Rhett Anthony and I will be
playing a set downtown for this event
at around 1pm-2pm. There is a 5K run,
a fun run, a cooking demonstration, and
live music from 11am to 2pm. This event
will feed 1000 needy, hungry kids in our
area.
I hope you will enjoy
the change of seasons that is coming.
I love it. I'm looking forward to all
the things that I'll be doing. Oktoberfest
in Ponchatoula is just around the corner.
I had one of my best drunks in 2001 there!
I'm enjoying Saints football and hoping
LSU will start to come around. I'm not
worried if the Saints fade - I'm used
to that - but being in the Dome on Sundays
has been great!
Please stay in touch.
The CD is almost out and I'll need all
the help I can get to make the release
a big, special event. Best wishes to you
all.
