The Elvis
and Jesse Tribute to the music of the
King of Rock and Roll, originally scheduled
for August, was cancelled due to Hurricane
Katrina. In conjunction with Spanky’s
Daiquiris’ efforts for hurricane
relief - a Poker Run scheduled for October

again present "The Elvis and Jesse
Show," Sunday October 16, 9pm. However,
it won’t be just a duo this time!
Kirk has
put the call out to many of his friends

The Elvis
and Jesse Show will close out the night,
but we are expecting many, many surprise
guests will show up and perform that day.
You don’t wanna miss some of these
unscheduled, but expected musicians.
Funds raised
are going to New Orleans musicians, who
were injured, displaced, and lost income
and support due to Katrina. Charities
include connick.com/nolarelief - http://connick.com/nolarelief/
, created through Harry Connick, Jr.’s
website; the New Orleans Musicians Clinic
- http://wwoz.org/clinic/
; and Preservation Hall’s New Orleans
Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund - http://www.preservationhall.com/2.0/donate.php/.
There is no cover charge, but if you show
up and spend some money and have a good
time, money will get to these specific
and legitimate charities. Also, funds
will come from the proceeds generated
by the Spanky’s Poker Run, which
has a wnner’s prize of $300.
Come on
Oct. 16 to Spanky’s Daiquiris in
Prairieville, 17316 Airline Hwy., for
a day and night of music and fun. The
music begins around 3 o'clock and will
go on all afternoon and evening. Elvis
and Jesse guarantee a great tribute to
Elvis Presley to cap off a fantastic day
that will benefit worthy New Orleans musicians
- musicians who, for the most part, live
gig to gig, providing the incredible soundtrack
for a city we all love.
