Hello friends. I have just have a couple of news tidbits to let you know about. The Wednesday night shows at the Cadillac Cafe with Rhett have ended. We did our last one last week. Thanks for your help there. Also, Ivar's once a month for me has ended.
I'll start a new show on Sundays in October at Spanky's Daiquiris in Prairieville. It is on Airline Hwy. near Hwy. 73. Right now, the first Sunday show is scheduled for October 13th and I hope to be joined by Rhett Anthony and/or Chris LeBlanc every week. Showtime should be around 8pm.
Also, I have a new New Orleans gig starting in October. I usually play one month at the Bulldog, then have Thursdays off for a month. But now, I'll be at The Hanger, 1511 S. Rendon St., whenever I'm not at the Bulldog. So, it's October at The Hanger and November at the Bulldog. That will probably be a 9 or 10pm starting time.
Thanks!
Kirk

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. It's football time and I'm loving it (except for that first LSU game). I had a fantastic time with the Cut Throats at Satterfields in New Roads on the 1st. They asked us to play an extra set and I loved the time and the performance.

Here's the CD update: I jumped the gun on thinking the mixing process would begin in August. I still have some calls, decisions, and technical things to take care of. I will get it started this month and will try to have the CD out in November. It's been recorded, though, and I hope it will continue to improve in these next phases.

I have been enjoying the Wednesday night gigs at Cadillac Café with Rhett. Look for his band, Hip Boot Joe (formerly Stones Throw). They have recorded songs and created a video, as well as having one of their original songs recorded by the Grammy winning gospel group, the Williams Brothers. I will be playing September 11 at the Cadillac, though Rhett will be absent, due to a recording commitment. I debated working that day, as I know I will be feeling very sad. But perhaps singing is a fine tribute to the memory of so many souls, violently taken.

It's back to the Bulldog on Thursdays this month. Other gigs are the usual suspects. Since the Gator Bar gig ending was sudden, I got caught short on my scheduling. I'll be lining up some new shows soon and will let everyone know about them. As always, your support is so appreciated and I am grateful for it. Another season is beginning, and with it, I feel great new things will be happening.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!!!!!

Kirk
